Windows 97 How To Run
NOTE: These instructions are not the only way to run this program. NOTE: Please read these instructions before attempting to try them. Step 1: Download Windows 97. (Please get the latest version) Step 2: Extract the Windows 97 ZIP file. Step 3: Download and install DOSBox Step 4: Depending on which operating system you are using, open up a Command Prompt window (Microsoft Windows), or a Terminal window (Mac OS X, maybe Linux) and cd to the directory you extracted Windows 97 into. Step 5: Now type: 'dosbox AUTOEXEC.BAT' without the quotes, of course. A DOSBox window should open up, when the (Windows 97) mouse pointer appears in the window, click in it or press CTRL+F10 to enter mouse grab (CTRL+F10 will exit mouse grab as well). You now have Windows 97 running on your computer. Enjoy it! Step 6: If step 5 failed, open up DOSBox and type: 'MOUNT C "SOMEDIR"' without the quotes, and press ENTER, where SOMEDIR is the path to the directory where Windows 97 is. After that, type 'C:' (without the quotes) then press ENTER, and then type 'AUTOEXEC.BAT' (without the quotes) then press ENTER. When the (Windows 97) mouse pointer appears in the window, click in it or press CTRL+F10 to enter mouse grab (CTRL+F10 will exit mouse grab as well). You now have Windows 97 running on your computer.
